Here comes Amazon appstore...

More Choices... Bangalore CityTransit is now also available from Amazon appstore for Android!

As of now, Amazon appstore is only available to customers located in United States, I'm hoping they would expand soon. Until then, those who live in United States, you have a reason to visit Bangalore :) Try Bangalore CityTransit application for Android(or iPhone).

Bangalore CityTransit for Android is released

It has been a while since my iPhone application 'Bangalore City Transit' was released. Response was great! However, there has been lots of request for same app on Android platform. So here it  is -  'Bangalore CityTransit' is available from Android Marketplace. As usual, it is free :)

'Bangalore CityTransit' application is like your public transit assistant. For given two locations in Bangalore, application will search and display the buses between the two. If there are no direct buses, then shows the routes with connection stop. Also includes details about each* bus route and there is a basic City Guide, could be useful if you are new to Bangalore. Best of all - none of these requires internet connectivity. Give it a try if you have Android or iPhone!

Please note - this application is not sponsored or affiliated with BMTC and only Vajra, Vayu Vajra and Big10 bus services are currently covered by this application. I've (painfully) gathered bus route information for Bangalore from publicly available sources. So the app contents could be out of date or inaccurate. If you see something is wrong or have any suggestions, please send across to me, I'd really appreciate it. Or, you just use it and like it - let me know! I do read my emails :)

I did not have a website or a support site for my iPhone app. Since now I have the apps for both iPhone and Android, I need to have something - so this is the blog. I will use this blog to post updates on my apps or may be just random stuff…

Jump over to 'Android Application' or 'iPhone Application' to get details on each…

Bangalore City Transit for iPhone

My first iPhone app - Bangalore City Transit is available from iTunes AppStore!

I'm new to Bangalore, can't drive car yet; so BMTC bus is the only way for me for all errands. I wrote this app just for myself and have been using it for a while. It seemed like a good utility, could be useful for many other bangaloreans... so with a bit of polishing, I'm releasing it on iTunes AppStore :)

These are the things Bangalore City Transit app provides:
- For any two locations in Bangalore, provides bus route directions. This includes direct buses or with stop-over connections
- Provides detailed route information with route intermediate stopes and route map
- No internet connection required for any route directions or route details. Only route maps requires Internet connection
- All search results or route directions can be saved as favorite for quick access
- Get bus stop informations and route informations with detailed map

Just to let you know, this app development is my hobby/fun work in my free time. This specific app - I wrote in just a couple of weekends, bus route information is limited to Vajra/VayuVajra/Big10 only. All bus route informations are assembled from publicly available sources - so I don't claim it to be accurate. I do not have the resources or reach within BMTC to get all bus route information...if anyone knows how/where to get all BMTC bus routes that I can legally use, please let me know. I'd be glad to update my apps with latest bus route information.
